Pearls of the Idea: The Temple Mount
The One Who Controls the Mount, Controls the Land
A collection of short articles by Rabbi Meir Kahane and stories about him, divided by topics, such as: Love of Israel, Land of Israel, State of Israel, Vengeance, The Temple Mount, and more.
The Temple Mount symbolizes the sovereignty of the people of Israel over the Land of Israel. Whoever controls the Temple Mount will control Jerusalem and the Land of Israel. Whoever controls the Temple Mount also imposes his religion and his God on the world.
Whoever holds the Temple Mount holds the key to sovereignty over the Holy Land. A Jew who refrains from removing the Arabs from the Holy of Holies will suffer from the wrath of God, who seeks to bring us redemption.
I dream of a Jewish state – of Jerusalem, on whose Temple Mount, the holiest place in Judaism, no mosques will be seen, and only Jews will pray there.
Whoever controls the Temple Mount will ultimately determine the fate of the entire Land of Israel. Whoever has the Temple Mount in his hands determines the sanctity of God or its desecration, and will bring upon us the great redemption or the terrible disaster.
The Situation on the Temple Mount – Desecration of God
To remove the accursed Ishmaelites from the site of our Temple, and to eliminate the disgrace of their mosques that anger God every day – these are a holy obligation, if we hope to save our souls from the day of wrath.
If I were Prime Minister, I would immediately stop the desecration of God and remove the Muslims from the Temple Mount, where the holiest place in Judaism is located.
The Temple Mount is in their hands, in the hands of the foxes, the Arab jackals. The words of Motta Gur echo in emptiness – and we are guilty. We, who took a miracle and despised it. We, who took holiness and desecrated it.
The Holy Mount, Mount Zion, the Temple Mount – the symbol of His majesty, splendor, kingdom, might, truth, existence of the Lord God of Israel, of the Lord who is God; the Temple Mount – the sanctification of the name of the Holy One blessed be He. But when? When it is in our hands.
The Temple Mount – The Focus
The Temple Mount, the Holy Mount, the site of the Temple, is the center, the focus, the test for the sanctification of God or its desecration.
We need to intensify the struggle around the Temple Mount, because that is the focus! Whoever truly wants to bring redemption must clarify to the people that precisely the Temple Mount is the focus.
Comment by Shlomo Moshe Scheinman
For the sake of balance, it emerges from the statements of Rabbi Avraham Shapira, head of Merkaz HaRav Yeshiva, that individuals have limitations when it comes to extreme actions in protest against the mosques on the Temple Mount.
That is to say, once I came as part of a large group that asked the Rav various questions. I asked whether the halakhic ruling I had received abroad — based on the commentator to Sefer HaMitzvot “Megillat Esther” — that there is no mitzvah to make aliyah to the Land of Israel until the coming of the Messiah, should be nullified. The Rav indeed agreed that it should be nullified.
A friend of mine in the group asked the Rav whether there is a mitzvah for an individual to blow up the mosques on the Temple Mount. The Rav sharply criticized the group just for raising the question, but he answered us that if someone were to blow up the mosques, the Government of Israel would rebuild them — and rebuild them even better and more magnificently — using taxpayers’ money. Therefore, one must not blow them up.
And according to his words, in our time, the ability of the individual to protest is limited to educational and political activities aimed at removing the mosques from the Temple Mount.
