Wisdom among the Gentiles but Not Torah

איכה רבה (וילנא) פרשה ב
אם יאמר לך אדם יש חכמה בגוים תאמן, הדא הוא דכתיב (עובדיה א’) והאבדתי חכמים מאדום ותבונה מהר עשו, יש תורה בגוים אל תאמן, דכתיב מלכה ושריה בגוים אין תורה
If a person will say there is wisdom among the Gentiles believe it, for it stated, (Ovadiah / Obadiah chapter 1:8) “I will destroy the wise men out of Edom, and discernment out of the mount of Eisav (Esau)”. If a person will say there is Torah among the Gentiles do not believe, for it was stated, Eicha / Lamentations 2:9 “Her King and her princes are among the Gentiles, there is no Torah”.
