Comment by Scheinman: It is demagoguery to blame the Temple Mount for the Death of Jews. The reason it is demagoguery is because the statement implies if the Jews left the Temple Mount alone there would be no attacks. The truth of the matter is that Islam has decided to wage a Jihad against the Jewish people whether we hold the Temple Mount or don’t. We only have the choice of fighting a winning war in which asserting Jewish rights to the Temple Mount is part of the victory strategy or letting the enemy get stronger and stronger and get away with more terror by doing nothing.
In Israel’s current situation G-d promises the do-nothing strategy will end up causing the death of a lot more Jews.
Here is some quotes provided by http://quotingislam.blogspot.co.il/2011/06/muhammad-says-that-one-day-very-trees.html to try to convince those that visit my blog, this fight is not over the Temple Mount. This is just a tactical excuse for their ultimate goals of killing Jews as an end in itself.
In the quote below I purposely changed the name of the Muslim Deity for I agree with Rabbi Yekutiel Halberstam that for various reasons Islam is idolatry, even though I know this is controversial.
I will also add that the fact that Jews pray in Maarat Hamachpela is no proof that Islam is not idolatry. Rambam who clearly held the Crusaders version of Christianity was idolatry entered into Maarat Hamachpela that was at the time a Crusader Church to visit the graves of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov.
Rabbi Yisrael Ariel told me he was allowed to do so based on one or more of the reasons that Rabban Gamliel gave for entering the bathhouse that contained the idol Aphroditi (this is the name used by the Talmud). See Avoda Zara 44b https://www.sefaria.org.il/Avodah_Zarah.44b.1-2?lang=en for more background.

Muhammad says that one day the very trees and stones will help Muslims to kill Jews
He says it in both Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, Islam’s two most canonical hadith collections:

Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 56, Number 791:
Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar:
I heard A—-‘s Apostle [Muhammad] saying, “The Jews will fight with you, and you will be given victory over them so that a stone will say, ‘O Muslim! There is a Jew behind me; kill him!’ ”
Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 176:
Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar:
A—-‘s Apostle said, “You (i.e. Muslims) will fight with the Jews till some of them will hide behind stones. The stones will (betray them) saying, ‘O ‘Abdullah (i.e. slave of A—-)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.’ ”
Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 177:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
A—-‘s Apostle said, “The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. “O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.”
Sahih Muslim, Book 041, Number 6981:

Ibn ‘Umar reported A—-‘s Messenger [Muhammad] (may peace be upon him) as saying: You will fight against the Jews and you will kill them until even a stone would say: Come here, Muslim, there is a Jew (hiding himself behind me); kill him.
Sahih Muslim, Book 041, Number 6983:
Abdullah b. ‘Umar reported A—-‘s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: You and the Jews would fight against one another until a stone would say: Muslim, here is a Jew behind me; come and kill him.
Sahih Muslim, Book 041, Number 6984:
Abdullah b. ‘Umar reported that A—-‘s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: The Jews will fight against you and you will gain victory over them until the stone would say: Muslim, here is a Jew behind me; kill him.
Sahih Muslim Book 041, Number 6985:
Abu Huraira reported A—-‘s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of A—-, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.

Comment 2 by Scheinman: Rabbi Halberstam and Rabbi Waldenberg (the Tzitz Eliezer) failed for some reason to use the heter of Rabbi Ariel which compares the Maarat Hamachpela to the bathhouse of Aphrodite. Therefore Rabbi Halberstam and Rabbi Waldenberg expressed some opposition over Jews visiting the Maarat Hamachpla.
Comment 3 by Scheinman: Someone asked me for my proof that asserting Jewish rights to the Temple Mount is part of the victory strategy in our war with the Jihadists. In the audio Rabbi Yosef Rabin brings up that point. I myself also bring proof for this assertion based on the letter I received from Former Minister of Police, Tzachi Hanegbi, see a translation of his letter to me at https://vilnagaon.org/letter-3/ He explains, there that the visits to the Temple Mount “strengthens the intensity of our claim for sovereignty on the Mount, if in the future there will be practical negotiations to establish a political arrangement”.
I also deduce from the book Kol Hator written by a disciple of the Vilna Gaon that asserting Jewish rights to the Temple Mount is part of a victory strategy.
Here’s a translated quote:

The sin of the spies in the desert in the days of Moshe(Moses) is one of the major general sins that rests upon the nation of Israel for all generations until this day. According to the midrash of our sages the cry for generations was decreed because of the sin of the spies. A cry over the destruction of the Temple, the destruction of Jerusalem, and the desolation of the land. In great measure Israel suffered and suffers in all generations, sufferings and travails of the bitter exile because of the sin of the spies. A major portion of this punishment for the sin was cast in the midst of the days of the act of the sin, namely in the generation of the desert, as explained in the Torah. However, the remainder of the punishment was divided into parts and cast upon all the generations, may the Merciful One protect us.

A great rectification for the sin of the spies can come by the redemption of Jerusalem and its building and by the activities for the ingathering of the exiles. In accordance with the well known principle, of “this in contrast to this did the L-rd make”.

Now measure for measure is applicable both for liabilities and merits. Fix what you damaged; namely, fix every thing in accordance to its place, its time and according to the activity and the publicity of that activity. Now behold, the sin of the spies that brought the cry for generations in accordance to what our sages expounded on the verse “And they cried on that night” took place on the night of the ninth of (the Hebrew month) Av, the same date (years later) on which the Temple was destroyed.

It turns out that the rectification of the sin of the spies has to be by means of building the Temple and before the building of the Temple, there has to be the building of Jerusalem as explained by our Rabbi in accordance with the verse “Jerusalem shall be built and the Temple Sanctuary shall be founded”, (Yishayahu/Isaiah 44:28) which was said concerning the beginning of the final redemption, similar to the days of Koresh.

Comment #4 by Scheinman: To be balanced, it could be that the other side does not agree that aliya to the Temple Mount contributes at all to the victory strategy of Israel and they might believe in fact it does the opposite. But they should still have phrased their opposition in a different way, since they give the incorrect impression what really is behind the Muslim Jihad. In any case this web site has a Kol Hator perspective.
Comment #5 by Scheinman: Full Disclosure: Under the conditions that prevailed during the days of Rabbi Avraham Shapira, head of Mercaz Harav and former Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi of the state of Israel, he personally would not allow me to ascend the Temple Mount. But he made it clear to me it had nothing to do with the accusation that those ascending the Mount are provoking the Arabs.
I have added a separate post to further deal with the accusation that the Temple Mount Activists are responsible for the Jihad violence see https://vilnagaon.org/fear-breeds-violence/
