According to CNN, Israel is seeking to purchase another 50 fighter jets for the modest sum of 18 billion dollars.
Were the fighter jets ever able to respond and prevent the missile launches against all parts of our country?
Did the fighter jets stop the occupation of parts of our country and the terrible pogrom that took place in the surrounding settlements on October 7?
Did the warplanes decide the battle in the Gaza Strip?
Did they stop the Iranian nuclear threat?
Did they stop Hezbollah from being supplied with missiles?
And in short – what’s going on here? Why does Israel continue to pour billions – which we obviously lack to rebuild the land army that is being dismantled or lack to build a missile force that is able to respond immediately to any launch; or which we lack to rebuild the settlements of the south and the north; while of course raising even more the wonderful retirement conditions of the senior officials…

Well then, as we have known for a long time – the I.D.F. is an army that has a country.
The military tail wags the political dog.
There is no maneuvering in Rafah, because the Americans don’t want it, and our military “tail” works for them – and wags us.

Moshe Feiglin has a set of suggestions how to get real change if he somehow wins a future election.
Will they work?
I don’t know one way or the other.
It is also legitimate to argue that just like the British Mandate reached a level of not being fixable from within, having decided about 3 and half months before World War II to turn Israel within 10 years into a Palestinian state (with a 2/3 anti-Jewish, Arab majority), so too, the State of Israel is not fixable from within. This school of thought holds our efforts should be not be wasted on the elections.

Comment 3: Jonathan Pollard pointed out that the technological needs of U.S.A. fighter jets would make us continually subject to the political blackmail of America to stop military operations that are good for Israel but bad for America. They will say your planes will stop working unless you use them on our conditions.

Currently the Oligarchs of the “Deep State” run Israel. During this current war, Israel’s High Court made a power grab to allow them now to abrogate even what is called “Basic Laws”, the equivalent to what are called “Constitutional Amendments” in the U.S.A.; yet it fits the economic and political needs of the Deep State to fool the larger public into believing Israel is a “Democracy”. They are hypocrites like pigs.
Could a new Prime Minister with more courage stand up to the “Deep State” and get away with it? Time will tell.
